Sunny Beach is the largest Black Sea resort in Bulgaria and is very popular in Bulgaria and abroad. It is situated only minutes from the UNESCO-protected historic town of Nessebar, 20 km north of the town of Pomorie, and only 35 km from the major city of Bourgas.
The climate in Sunny Beach is mild, with warm to hot summer months cooled by a pleasant sea breeze, mild winter with few snowfall days, beautiful spring that begins around March 15, and warm and sunny autumn that continues until December. During the summer months, the sun is up for 10-11 hours each day.
The beach of the Sunny Beach resort is spacious, about 10 km long, and covered with fine golden sand. Along most of the beach, sand dunes separate the beach from the hotels. The sea bottom slopes down gradually and has a soft sand cover, which makes it ideal for spending time in the water and for swimming. The resort has more than 110 hotels beautifully situated among rich vegetation: Canadian birch, Black Sea pine trees, cypress trees, acacia, decorative bushes, grass lawns, and flower alleys.
