Bulgaria property insurance claims up 140%
Aircraft, sickness and property insurance posted th? biggest gains in insurance claims during th? first half ?f 2006, shows data released b? Bulgaria's financial regulator.
Aircraft insurance claims zoomed up b? 361.4%, sickness claims rose 174.4% while property claims added 140%.
Payouts under general motor insurance, credit insurance and goods in transit insurance policies declined over th? year-ago period. th? total claims paid b? general insurers b? end-July stood ?t 169.1 mln levs, up 16.66% year-on-year. th? insurers ceded 125.3 mln levs in general insurance premiums t? reinsurers ?r 25% ?f th? gross insurance income. th? insurers have ceded between 50% and 100% ?f gross premium income fr?m aviation, marine, bank guarantee, fire and natural disaster insurance. th? insurers have ceded only 26.47% ?f Green Card insurance premiums and 13.18% ?f motor third party premiums.
